Security systems have grown exponentially within the last several years for many reasons.

On this page you will find a lot of information regarding this new technology and how it is becoming more popular, not only for the cost and variety (according to estimates) but also because of it's convenience and benefits when combined with other equipments such as computers , tablets, smartphones, etc..

In domestic applications, crime has not been the only reason that these systems are implemented, but also technology has helped these camera systems have the ability to observe what is important to us andwhat we want to access 24 hours no matter where we are.

For public places controlled by government administration, security cameras are helping to solve criminal cases that would have been difficult to determine without a video or hard evidence displaying what happened.

bullet Why do I need a Security System?
Security cameras allow you to monitor and record all events in real time and will give you the optio to later see if you need to review any major incident from the past. The cameras are an important element in conjunction with the recorder (DVR / NVR) that make up a system of CCTV (Closed Circuit TV).

bullet What are the benefits of having a CCTV Security System?
The implementation of security cameras and surveillance systems have been revolutionized in recent years because of the benefits they offer wether it be for mega applications such as airports, train stations, public parks, museums, ports, or something as simple as safety and protection of homes and businesses. The latest advances in security cameras and surveillance systems have high levels of safety monitoring and have helped to stop the activities of thieves and criminals.

Some of the advantages to these systems include prevention of theft and illegal activities, strengthen the evidence in the legal field, reduce insurance premiums and fees and 24 hour remote access from anywhere.
  Ip Cameras or Analog?
  What is an IP Camera?

Commonly referred to as IP cameras, a camera that digitizes and processes similar images after encoding internally to be sent via Ethernet connections to computers or similar equipment. IP cameras are equipped with an integrated web server that can be accessed and controlled via any IP network such as WAN, LAN, Intranet or Internet, as standard web browsers or programs are used, users can view the images from any local or remote location. Basically an IP camera is a network device that has its own IP address, connect wired or WiFi network and requires maintenance.

What is an Analog Camera?

A similar security camera starts with a CCD or CMOS sensor which then digitizes the image to be processed later, but before the video is sent it again converted to analog so that it can be received by an analog computer as a monitor or DVR recorder. Analog cameras do not have any internal servers or coders and require no technical maintenance. These functions are implemented in the DVR recording equipment. Analog cameras require minimal or no knowledge of networking and configuration. Nothing simpler than to feed them power current, pointing the lens and focus.

Conclusion, Advantages, Disadvantages

Analog technology continues to dominate the security market , representing between 70 % to 80 %, this statistic does not take into account the millions of cameras and similar equipment currently in service. Customers have invested heavily in analog infrastructure and are interested in keeping them in force as long as possible, especially in these difficult economic times . For comparison, solutions based on IP CCTV technology are more expensive , of similar quality, more complex to install and require additional equipment and administration. The point is, for decades analog video systems have been installed and forgotten due to their low or zero maintenance requirements , these customers will not be interested in hiring expensive professionals to manage and maintain different equipment . The technology of IP cameras is relatively new and continuously developing at some time, improvements in image processing , encoding and Networking prevail on the cost and benefits of analog technology , maybe not for years . At the same time, similar systems will continue to improve its performance. Any of these technologies provides quality 1080p HD resolution and the two continue to improve every day to continue to offer users more choices and benefits when making a decision and choose a security system. Today, you have to worry about knowing what cameras or codings work with NVRs and DVRs , then you have to consider the next generation of IP cameras, which work with coding and therefore represent options to predict future risk of the investment.
